Living in Vienna
In 2016, Vienna again topped the Mercer ‘Quality of Living Survey’. The results of the Mercer study show, for the seventh time in a row, that Vienna’s approach to quality of living is internationally acknowledged.
The study compares 230 cities worldwide based on 39 criteria such as political, social, economic, and environmental factors. Two more European cities are among the top five: Zurich ranks 2nd and Munich 4th. Auckland (ranking 3rd) and Vancouver (ranking 5th) complete the list of the top five cities to live worldwide.
Mayor Mr Michael Häupl: “Vienna is a city that is renowned the world over for security, high social standards, affordable housing, excellent infrastructure, and first-class cultural offerings for the Viennese and guests alike. Mercer and other rankings have confirmed these facts time and again. But they are also reflected in the satisfaction of the Viennese with the city’s municipal services.”
