Business Intelligence

Leading players in the financial services industry are now aware that obsolete data governance is not only a sign of inefficient management of corporate data, but, above all, one of the prominent factors that may lead to a progressive loss of business.

Today, banks and insurance companies require data governance support in designing solutions and implementing projects to both manage the exponential increase in data and extract the correct values from available information. Effective data governance provides high return on IT investments and, from a business point of view, aids in operational and financial options appraisals and efficient decision-making.

Our extensive experience in data governance has been built over the years through several projects in database management, data warehousing and business intelligence for a number of European leading financial institutions. As part of this journey, we have established a consolidated partnership with two leading providers of data governance technology in the market (IBM and Oracle).

Business Analytics

Velocity, voracity and volumes are the three Vs that financial services firms are facing, to improve their time-to-market and ensure the reliability of their decisions in the competitive scenario of Big Data.

We have worked hard over the last years to build solid competence in this complex topic. In particular, with the support of specialists from the best European universities and research centres, we have developed many patents and advanced data analysis methods (including computational intelligence), leading to the origination of optimal solutions in areas such as Risk Management and Market Intelligence.

In particular, with our technology partner SAS, we have developed a modern approach allowing companies to benefit from large and medium-performance platforms and specialised resources, while reducing costs and limiting the risks associated to this complex and often turbulent environment. Our services of Information As a Service (IAS) and Platform As a Service (PAS) ensure high quality standards, while safeguarding our clients from further obsolete technology investments.

Business Integration

Technical environment and infrastructure for integration have always been at the heart of any complex architecture. Traditionally, these components were used to enable the integration between different application clusters in a complex architecture. Today, these platforms are primarily utilised to deploy business logic at the middleware level, as a measure to ensure greater flexibility and speed in its development. Moreover, the increasing complexity of business processes – now transparent to customers – requires the overall process framework to be mapped in the integration infrastructure instead of on each application cluster.

The standardisation of protocols and interfaces is the foundation of the SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) model, now widely accepted as the reference model for IT architectures based on orchestration of modular software components. These components can also be activated through standard interfaces, thus making the overall architecture independent from both the implementation platform and technology.

Based on these concepts, we provide, in partnership with TIBCO, innovative business integration solutions focusing strongly on business needs. As part of our general philosophy, the unique value of our proposition stems from our specialised knowledge of the financial services industry combined with our technological skills.
